Monthly Tikkun Olam Initiative March 2023

More than two weeks after a magnitude 7.8 earthquake ravaged Turkey and Syria, there are more than 40,000 deaths and thousands of injuries, with more casualties expected as first responders continue their rescue efforts.

The Congregation Brith Shalom Tikkun Olam Initiative would like to support the thousands who were left with no home, no warm cloths, no food by dedicating the month of March and  asking our members to come together to donate urgent items needed which will be collected and delivered to the Turkish consulate by the end of the month.

The Turkish Consulate in Houston and the Turkish Embassy in Washington kindly asked for new/unused items, below is the urgent list:
•    Blankets
•    Winter coats for children and adults
•    Boots
•    Sweatshirts /sweatpants
•    Gloves
•    Hats
•    Socks
•    Underwear
•    Sleeping bags
•    Diapers

Donations can be dropped off at Brith Shalom Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. Click here if you prefer to donate to a cash fund.

For any questions, please contact Shlomit Alon, Event Coordinator.
