Words have power to inflame. Words have power to comfort.
Words matter.
As survivors and mourners search for meaning, some are finding meaning in the power of words.
Words matter.
We console each other with words. We sing our songs to You, Adonai.
Words matter.
We Bless God with Baruch ata. Our psalmist sings, “those who love God, hate evil”.
Words matter.
A section of the Mishna is devoted to the prohibition of hurting people with words. It’s called o’na’at dvarim.
Words matter.
Hateful words lead to hateful action. Let us all be more judicious with the words.
Words matter.
God created the world with the words, “Let there be light”. We, too, can create worlds with words – let there be kindness, peace, and love.
Words matter.
Bless each other and say, “May God bless you and keep you. May God shine light upon you.” because…
