The second of our four-part series led by Aaron Howard on Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) continues. In session 2, Aaron will look at what the text tells us about Kohelet, the man, and what in the text caused the sages to argue for and against including Kohelet in the biblical canon. While notes with Kohelet text in Hebrew and English will be provided, it might also be helpful to bring a Tanakh or other book containing Kohelet.

During the prior synagogue year Adult Education began a new initiative for monthly Shabbat Study. The sessions take place on the third Shabbat of the month after Kiddush-Lunch. Each series lasts 4 consecutive sessions. During 5779 we completed three series: Stories from the book of Judges (Andy Hoffman), Interpreting the Torah (Debbie Kagan), and Understanding the Psalms (Sue Resnick).

The fourth Series focussing on the book of Ecclesiastes led by Aaron Howard began in August and will continue through November. Future series for 5780 will be announced in due course.
