Description: The ancient Jewish book of Judith tells the story of a beautiful, pious widow who seduces an enemy general to his death. This talk will explore questions such as: What does Judith have to do with Hanukkah? Why didn't her book make it into the Jewish biblical canon (Tanakh)? And what is the role of Judith's womanhood in her story?
