Sunday, October 24, 2021 18 Cheshvan 5782

7:00 PM - 8:30 PMvia Zoom

with Janice Rubin & Alisha Klapholz
Sunday, October 24 | Virtual  7:00 PM

Janice Rubin embarked on a photographic exploration of the ritual of mikvah in the year 2000.  She began with underwater photographs of models, and later expanded the project to include oral histories and anonymous portraits of women from across the country who spoke about their lives through the lens of mikvah.

The Mikvah Project exhibit has toured 34 cities in the U.S. and Europe since 2001, and served to educate many Jews who were unfamiliar with that ritual.

Janice will offer insights gleaned from her explorations, which led her to a reexamination of Jewish ritual and its potential for personal transformation at all stages of life.

She will be joined by Alisha Klapholz, Director of the Houston Community Mikvah at UOS.

This program is open to women only. Pre-registration is required.
