Hazak June: A Talk with live Piano Music with guest Mark Vogel

2:00 PM - 5:00 PMat Brith ShalomPianist and Educator Mark Vogel presents a program that explores how music makes us feel, delving into the character and emotions portrayed in music by composers such as Mozart, Schubert, Beethoven, Chopin, Gershwin, Brubeck, and more.
Since arriving in Houston in 2014, Mark Vogel has established himself in this city’s vibrant musical culture as a performer, conductor, and educator. He has been Artistic Director of International Voices Houston since 2016, and he is also Professor of Music at Lone Star College-North Harris, and Music Director at Congregation Beth Israel. He is also known for his creative piano performance-lectures, given at such venues as San Jacinto College and the UT Health and Science Center. His extensive musical training includes a Master’s degree in piano performance from Manhattan School of Music studying with Ruth Laredo, and a Bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the University of Iowa studying with Rene Lecuona.
Hazak features programming for adults 55 and over. All are welcome.

Most Hazak programs are $8.00 for Brith Shalom congregation members and $10.00 for non-members.
