Over three nights in September on prime-time television, documentary movie maker Ken Burns premiered his latest documentary series “The U.S. And the Holocaust”.

The film raised a number of important issues that determined American responses to Nazism, war, genocide. These issues are still playing out in contemporary America such as the ideal of our country as a place of refuge versus the reality of anti-immigration policies since the post-War old War I period.

For two evenings in November, Aaron Howard will screen excerpts from the Ken Burns film and lead an interactive discussion on the motives, pressures and fears that shaped U.S. and American Jewish responses to Nazism, war and genocide.
