By many, the Book of Esther is considered farcical. Should we treat this Biblical text as “history?” Why was there a struggle regarding the canonization of this book? How do we understand the difference of religious message of the text in the Hebrew Bible and the version in the Septuagint? What can we learn from the chiastic structure found within the text?
