Cantor Levine presents an historical look at the times and influences of the more than 800-year period following the Biblical era. This was the era in which Judaism as we know it developed in response to the Biblical text, the influence of surrounding cultures, and significant events in the life of the Jewish people. Temple became Torah and Rabbinic text.
The final section of our conversation will explore the shifting biblical and rabbinic understanding of man’s ability to confront God.
