As of Monday, August 9th, Brith Shalom has updated our COVID-19 policies and guidance in response to the constantly evolving pandemic environment.

Shabbat services will continue to be held Friday nights at 6:15 PM, and Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM in the sanctuary. Services will also be available for online participation through a choice of Zoom and YouTube streaming.

The CBS Board of Trustees has adopted the following policies relating to vaccinations:

The Board of Trustees has endorsed the unanimous position of the Rabbinical Assembly Committee of Jewish Law and Standards that as Jews we are obligated to vaccinate against the COVID-19 virus.

We therefore ask for the safety of our community and in line with our congregational values, that if you are medically eligible to vaccinate but are not yet fully vaccinated – please join us remotely for services online through Zoom or streaming.

We recommend that during this time of heightened risk, those who may be immuno-compromised but vaccinated evaluate joining online through Zoom or streaming or upgrading masking quality in conjunction with advice from your physician.

In consultation with our staff and medical committee, we have also updated our guidance regarding masking and social distancing:

  •     Consistent with current CDC guidance for an area with “High or Severe” transmission of COVID-19, masking covering nose and mouth is required indoors of everyone over the age of 2.
  •     Social distancing continues to be strongly encouraged inside, and we will continue to block rows and provide space to allow for effective distancing.

Registration will not be required to attend weekday and Shabbat services. All are welcome and we very much look forward to seeing you in person or online.

Jonah Paransky, President
