Dear Friends,

Due to a number of conflicts beyond our control, Mitzvah Day, originally scheduled for this coming Sunday, will be cancelled and replaced by a different mitzvah model.

Beginning in January, we will offer a mitzvah of the month, during which we will visit one site each month.

  • We hope this will enable members to participate on a regular basis in fulfilling this important mitzvah.
  • It is also our hope that participants will find causes which speak to their hearts and make ongoing commitments to those organizations.
  • We will be reaching out to our interfaith partners to invite them to join with us in as many of these opportunities as is possible.

In the very near future, we will be announcing the events for early 2020 and look forward to joining with you in fulfilling our obligations to God and community through Tikkun Olam.

January 2020

In January, Brith Shalom will launch a new monthly program of service projects around Houston.

At our first Monthly Mitzvah Day project on January 5, we will visit Midtown Terrace for a New Year’s celebration with the veterans living there. We will sing with Rabbi Teller and raffle off prizes for the veterans.

Come and visit with the veterans and thank them for their service. If you have books to donate, bring them along.

The 2020 line-up of monthly projects will be announced shortly.
