TOAST Points: How to Look at Art
SUNDAY, JANUARY 20 at 2:00 pm
•Have you ever wondered what makes a piece of art museum-worthy?
•Do you find looking at art to be boring or confusing?
•Do you know nothing about art but want to learn?
Join Wendy Adler as she leads a discussion about art. We’ll talk about how to look at art, what can make it special, and we’ll compare and contrast various artists and styles.
Everyone is welcome!
Wendy Adler moved to Houston in 2014 from the Dallas area. She has been a volunteer, museum tour guide, and program coordinator for various visual arts programs over the last 15 years in California and Texas. Currently, Wendy conducts a “Culture Club” series of monthly art discussions and field trips around the Houston area. These presentations generally involve comparing and contrasting various artists’ works and styles, along with lending context for art viewing. Participants need not have anything other than an interest in learning more about art to enjoy this unique and conversational approach.
