Jeffrey K. Actor, Ph.D., is a tenured Professor and member of the Academy of Master Educators at the University of Texas-Houston Medical School. He teaches aspects of immunology and infectious disease, and serves on numerous academic administrative councils. He has a strong interest in medical Jewish bioethics and a love for science fiction. His wife of 28 years, Lori, is the director of Israel engagement at the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston, and they have 21-year-old twins (Amanda and Jonas). They have been members of Brith Shalom for 17 years.
