Great news! The Board of Trustees met at an open Special Meeting last night, February 7th, to discuss and vote upon a Motion to Re-Elect Rabbi Ranon Teller, and voted to renew Rabbi Teller’s contract with Congregation Brith Shalom for an additional 16 years, commencing July 1, 2019.
Mitch Kreindler, Chair of the Special Committee was charged with the task of making recommendations to the Board concerning the re-election and terms of the contract with Rabbi Teller. His committee went to great lengths to receive input from the membership, Rabbi Teller, CBS's staff, and from the Greater Houston Jewish Community.
The Board, having given due and careful consideration of the Special Committee’s Report, which included a finding that over 92% of the membership was strongly in favor of re-election of our beloved Rabbi, engaged in a thorough discussion over the decision to renew Rabbi Teller’s contract for the lengthy term and the implications and effects thereof for CBS.
Congratulations to Rabbi Teller on this significant event in not only Rabbi Teller’s life, but also that of CBS. We look forward to continuing with Rabbi Teller for many, many years in the pursuit and development of our spiritual journey. Personally, I can tell you that I am so very glad that our children will continue to have the opportunity to grow with him, be influenced by him, and think of him as their rabbi in their adult life.
