Adult Education - Winter Seminar [flyer]

Finding God (with Jonathan Fass) at Brith Shalom

In this series we will explore how three modern theologians have tackled the fundamental issues that Judaism must address in developing a contemporary understanding of God. We will investigate Milton Steinberg’s concept of Limited Theism, Mordecai Kaplan’s notion of God without Supernaturalism, and Erich Fromm’s Humanistic orientation. Our conversation will resist long-held assumptions about God as discussed in the biblical and rabbinic traditions and will compel us to consider alternatives that both challenge and inspire.

Wednesday Evenings
7:15 - 8:15 pm
January 11, 18 and 25

Six Week Seminar: Thinking Like a Conservative Jew  (Cantor Levine) [flyer]

What is Conservative Judaism?  Where did it come from?  What does a Conservative Jew think and do?  What makes us not Orthodox, Reform or Reconstructionist Jews?

This 6 week seminar will be offered at three different times (Sunday, 9:45 am; Wednesday, 7:00 pm; Saturday, 10:30 am) so that participants can select the most convenient times for themselves. Click here for the full schedule of the series.
